SPRING 2018 WORKSHOP SCHEDULE
1/28: SCANDANAVIAN INSPIRED FOLK ART BIRDS+FLOWERS 1-4PM
Inspired by color and simplicity of Scandinavian illustrations and patterns, we will be choosing 3 designs and color palettes to paint on 3 separate canvases of various sizes.
Artists will walk away with 3 finished paintings.(inspiration via pinterest)
$85.
Artists will each get a corrugated metal heart to paint and add wire to. We will also be making arrows out of wood and metal points. Real feathers and twine. Sign up for our “Dream Catchers+Hearts” class the next day and you will have a whole collection of heart goodness. Includes Village Host Pizza dinner.
$65.
Using all sorts of yarn, lace, crocheted dollies, embroidery floss and washi tapes, we will be creating our own dream catchers and embellishing them with feathers, felt hearts, pompoms and more. Artists will also be painting and collaging hearts on 6x6 canvases and painting one smaller metal heart and embellishing it with paper flowers and felt if they chose.

2/4: BE MY VALENTINE CARDS 1-4PM
Much like our Christmas cards workshop, artists will be busy drawing and painting cards for their loved ones for Valentine’s Day. This year we are bringing in some mid century and folk art elements to them. Full of forest animals, hearts, and flowers. These cards will be glittered, and some will be sewn, the results will make you not want to give these away! Each artist will come away with at least 10 cards.

Come in ladies and paint one large metal heart or 3 smaller hearts. You will be wiring them and then making your own arrows, which you can adorn with paper+felt flowers and leaves, paint, glitter, real feathers and twine. Includes light snacks and beverages. Feel free to bring in a snack or drink to share.

2/10: RUSTIC “LOVE” SIGN 10AM-1PM
Artists will paint and sand their own LOVE project. Each artist will receive a 12x20 wooden background and then we will be making letters. The O will be a metal heart, the V will have an arrow and the L and E will be wood and paper mache that will painted and decoupage.

A fun night of planting and placing and twining to make a beautiful heart wreath. Artists can embellish any way they want, adding real succulents, or felt+paper flowers, mini lights and more. Light snacks and beverages will be served. Feel free to bring something to share.

2/17: PET’S PORTRAIT 2pm-5pm
Bring in a photo of your pet and learn how to paint their portrait! This project will be painted with acrylics on a 16x20 (or smaller if you choose) canvas with an optional choice of getting it framed.
$75.
Artists will each get 12 (6x6”) canvases to paint. Each canvas will be a relevant image of what that month means to them. It can include seasonal changes, holidays, celebrations and more. They will then be put together and framed in a rustic redwood frame. * School holiday+includes pizza lunch. Limited to 6 students.
$150.
Artists will get so various size canvas, wood and papers to work with. Each person will be painting, cutting, mixing fabric and paint and papers together to make their own houses and trees. They will also be using colored duct tapes, washi tape and driftwood for extra detail embellishments. Artists should come away with 3 houses to hang for a village.

3/3: METAL FISHIES 10am-1pm
Artists will get 3 cut out metal fish to paint and decorate. They will get other metal fins, driftwood and found objects to add to them if they want and then wire them to hang.

Inspired by the work of Mary Blair for Disney in the late 60’s, we will be creating our own “small worlds” full of houses and castles, people and animals, culture and color. We will also be embellishing with glitter and gems.

3/10+11: GARGANTUAN CANVAS 1pm-3pm (2 days)
Again and again and again…it is always filled! If you have an artist who likes to paint giant paintings, then this is the workshop for them! Artists will get to choose from a variety of large sized canvases to design and paint their own huge canvas. Limited to 6 students. It is recommended that parents talk to Cayce first before the workshop starts in order to get ideas of what they might want to paint. Great for most ages.

3/17: RAINBOWS+UNICORNS 10am-1pm
Full of rainbows and unicorns, glitters, decopaging, painting and more! Artists will be painting and decorating a paper mache unicorn and painting rainbows and a unicorn on a few canvases. This promises lots of color, sparkle and gold embellishments.

3/24: PAPER MACHE BUNNIES 10am-12pm
Each artist will get 2 bunnies to paint and embellish with carrots, eggs, flowers etc.

They’re back! This was simply one of my most favorite workshops last year! Each artist will get their own chicken to paint and decoupage. They can add flowers, and papers and glitter to them if they choose.
